Two National Awards won by Southport based Psychotherapist for her work with infant loss. Nadine Baynes, founder and MD of not-for -profit, social enterprise, Lighthouses Therapy Services (LTS) has won 2 national awards for her tireless service to parents who have experienced the loss of an infant
Nadine experienced her own loss and was offered no support in the aftermath.
Having qualified as a psychotherapist she knew she wanted to put this pain to purpose and set up Lighthouses in order to give others the support that the current system is not yet set up to deliver. Nadine, and her team, deliver intensive infant loss retreats in Formby, Merseyside.
This weekend saw Lighthouses win the National UK Baby Loss Support Organisation 2019 at the National Butterfly Awards in Warwick. On winning the award Nadine stated,
“What an emotional and inspiring event the Butterfly Awards are. So proud that we won the award for Best UK Support Organisation. Myself and my dedicated team feel privileged in supporting parents and families of Infant Loss at our Weekend Counselling Retreats in Formby, Merseyside, which are accessible to any bereaved parent or family member of infant loss across the UK. This month marks our 4th anniversary and for as long as bereaved parents need us we are here.”
Three weeks ago Nadine also won the ‘Awesome’ Award at the national Positive Awards in Liverpool for her fundraising, training and advocacy activity all aimed at improving services available for bereaved parents, as well as for creating these unique retreats, which are described as ‘life changing’ and ‘relationship saving’ by the parents who attend them
