Meet the Team

Nadine Baynes - Founder

I am a mother of a 15 year-old daughter and I also have three stepchildren

My passion comes from supporting families who have been through infant loss

Because of my own history of loss including miscarriage, termination and losing a brother to suicide, I feel my experience and understanding of grief has brought me here - pain to purpose

I am also part of the Bereavement Focus Group at Ormskirk Hospital

I believe in a person growing to their full potential and it's not all about reaching happiness, it's learning who to be in the middle of your struggles and yes it can be a difficult journey but it's so worth it

"We witness a lot of pain and heartache, and feel privileged that bereaved parents trust us with their stories"

We feel blessed that we can help the parents, that we have the skills and the training to just be there, listen to their needs and guide them through the blocks which aren’t serving them within their pain

If you are that person who feels like your heart has been wrenched out or feel depressed and full of anxiety then please come and talk to us

This is what we are here for

We are waiting for you

We can help you

Michala Leyland

When Nadine asked me to support her mission of helping women through the pain and grief of losing an infant, it was a no-brainer. What other answer was there than a yes?!

So, who am I? I'm a woman on a mission, founder of Wood for the Trees Life Coaching and winner of 3 BizMums Awards

I'm a mother, a wife, a teacher, warrior, worrier, leader, After-Care Coach for Lighthouses, celebrator of women's strength and tenacity and I am negotiating this wonderful world we live in every day, just like you

"My mission as a life coach is to help women 'sod the shoulds,' gain guilt-free no's to avoid overwhelm and to love themselves a little bit more"

As a coach I help women to look where they are now, where they want to go and how to break it down into steps to get there

I don't dig deep into the whys and what happened before, that's not my role nor what I have been trained in

But it is what Nadine and her team can do to help and support you, so you can move forward

Life will never be the same, but you deserve a future

You deserve a full life and a chance to heal

I applaud you for your courage and strength in seeking out the help you need and I know you are in safe hands

Vanessa Hurrell

Hi - my name is Vanessa

I am a psychotherapist, registered with the International Council of Integrative Psychotherapists - I have a diploma in Transpersonal Therapeutic Counselling and a certificate in Psychodynamic Counselling

I have attended local and international workshops on leadership and purpose, and have supported others in their workshops

I am in the process of training as a trauma informed therapist and as a shamanic practitioner

I started my own therapeutic work in 1998 to explore the beliefs that I had created in my childhood and early adulthood – I have come to understand that my experiences have been a gift to me and that they have given me an awareness and understanding of some of the challenges that life can bring

I have been through my own fertility journey and, although I was not ultimately able to have a child, I was able to find meaning in the experience

I have my own practice though I was honoured when Nadine asked me to join the team at Lighthouses

I offer the openness of my healing heart, as well as compassion and care

My aim is to be of support to you whilst you travel this part of your journey

"We are all just walking each other home" Ram Dass

I have an understanding of pain and how it can shape our lives - I can sit with you during this difficult time, so that you know that you are not alone

Our work is to provide the space for you to feel heard and held with compassion and empathy

Our training and our own personal experiences help us to create a place of solace for you to step into - for you to bring the parts of you that feel broken and tender - for us to remind you that you are not broken - that are beautiful beyond measure
