I am a mother of a 10-year old daughter and I also have three stepchildren.
I have a dog too called Rosie who is a 6 year old Shih Tzu cross Jack Russell - so I suppose you might say she is a JackSu which sounds very fancy, but I mostly call her a Jack-Shiht which always makes for a giggle when I am dog-walking and people ask "what is she" - a Jackshiht I say. LOL. One lady once called her a mongrel!! TUT TUT How Outrageous - 'close your ears Rosie' I said.
I'm also an aunt which is a great job - I have 4 nieces and 4 nephews . I have a lot of friends, but only a handful of those I would call close - those who I go to coffee with, dance with, sing with, cry with, laugh with - y'know the ones.
I do like to sing, although I'm not professional or anything like that, but I can hold a tune. I've done a couple of gigs by the way. Yep - my singing buddies at The Talent Factory and I have done a couple of 'shows' for the pensioners in a church down the road from where I live. Oh yeah we are talking 'making it big'. LOL.
I also like to shadow teach in the same classroom where I studied for my Psychotherapy Diploma. I work with Year 1 students and I just love it - I find it really exciting to watch people grow through their 'stuff'. Everyone has 'stuff' y'know. I had lots to work through myself and which I did over the last 200 years (give or take a couple). I believe in a person growing to their full potential and it's not all about reaching happiness, it's learning who to be in the middle of your struggles and yes it can be a difficult journey but it's so worth it.
So I have a mission - which is to help women and men who have been through the trauma of infant loss (miscarriage, abortion, still-birth, ectopic pregnancy, loss of a premature baby) and are still suffering with the psychological effects such as depression, anxiety, grief, anger, guilt or shame.
I reach out to you with empathy and compassion. I know I can help you. I have been through infant loss.
